Artist-made Borosilicate Lampwork Beads

There's a mouthful! Boro beads for short - but not "borrow beads." We're sure you'll want to buy your own when you get a look at these!

These are handmade (and cleaned and annealed) in the US from borosilicate glass - which is a "hard glass." You probably know it as Pyrex.(TM) The colour palette in the borosilicate glass is quite different, tending to lots of variable, streaky colours, interesting effects, and a lot of earth tones. It is also hugely expensive, and therefore is used very deliberately, instread of with the abandon that is characteristic of soft glass (the regular stuff.)

The end results are some strikingly beautiful beads that we are sure you will find as appealingly different as we do (judging by the way we had to pry ourselves off the shipment when it came in.) And, as the lampworkers around here all agreed - you couldn't pay us to make these for ourselves for these prices!

BTW, the "Teardrop Swoops" are an interesting shape - here's a few more pictures to help make the shape clearer - as when they are all together, it's hard to see what they are.
