Just when you thought you were getting a handle on working glass - just when you were starting to feel some pride in your beads - bingo - along comes this book and humbles you again. Filled with omigawd techniques and beads of such delicacy and precision, they make you want to scream and cry. However, the author has anticipated this emotional outburst and has this to say on the subject: Do not work hard to become better - listen to good music, eat good food. Enjoy the present circumstances, even though they are far from satisfactory. Be thrilled with the great work you do, forgive and encourage yourself, keep moving forward - it is a precious experience which cannot be lived again. Couldn't have said it better myself. Mostly in Japanese, with the salient parts translated into English. This book features Japanese torches and the ultra-soft Satake glass - but is relevant to soft-glass workers of all types.
