DAY 1/Sat/(Dinner) Arrival day to GUATEMALA
CITY – Arrive at Aurora airport in Guatemala city where you will be
met and take to POSADA BELEN. This evening you are offer a
free welcome
dinner to get acquainted and be briefed.
DAY 2/Sun/ CHICHICASTENANGO AND
LAKE ATITLÁN. (6 A.M. to 3:30 P.M. CHICHICASTENANGO "Place of the
nettles" Breathtaking mountain scenery. The trill of it all…the
most colorful MAYA-QUICHE open air market in the MAYA WORLD, it gathers thousands of
natives, actual descendants of this Maya tribe. The
Maya
Ceremony in Chichi is the closest thing to place your self in the
ancient Mayan temples and see, feel and smell on real time their little changed
religious ceremonies and listen to them talk with their ancient Gods. Shop for colorful
hand made native
textiles, masks etc. see the intricate combined ceremony of Mayan and Catholic rites in
Santo Tomas Church , founded in 1541.
Afternoon transfer to LAKE ATITLÁN:
One of the world’s most beautiful volcanic lakes, triangle by the volcanoes "Atitlán",
"Toliman." And "San Pedro". The approach to the lake
offers scenic splendor, around this wonder lake are located 14 small
Mayan villages. you stay overnight at the Cacique Inn or similar at
Panajachel in the Lake Atitlán.
DAY 3/Mon/ LAKE TRIP. (9 AM to 7
PM) In the Morning you take a boat to visit SANTIAGO ATITLAN one
of the Mayan villages on the shores of Lake Atitlán the land of the
Zutuhiles Mayans who proudly wear their beautiful regional dress. Explore the town
for the Arts and Crafts they produce, see the ornate old church at
Santiago and enjoy the fantastic scenery of the lake's volcanoes from your
boat. In the afternoon transfer to Antigua, Overnight in ANTIGUA at
Posada de Don Rodrigo or similar..
DAY 4/Tue/ ANTIGUA at leisure – Here is a
free day to shop,
sightsee
to visit museums, monuments, churches and handcraft workshops in this
colonial city. Afternoon drive to Guatemala city, overnight at Posada Belen
Museo Inn.
DAY 5/Wed/ GUATEMALA CITY,
A free day for visit the national museum of archaelogy, botanic garden,
the zoo and the historic center. or take an optional long drive (5hrs each way)
journey to Copan ruins in Honduras. Overnight at Posada Belen Museo Inn.
DAY 6 /Thu/ (Free Lunch) TIKAL (5 AM) Is a great time to see the
magnificent Mayan Monuments of Tikal surrounded with the
beauty of the emerald forest and its inhabitants, palaces and temples
and ball courts, the New York of the Mayas where the size and heights of
their buildings make you feel small and the strong forces of nature remembers
to all us humans what is really important in this life. A one in a
life time must do experience. Overnight at the Jungle Lodge or similar (No A/C)
in Tikal or in
Flores Island at hotel Petén or similar (With A/C), afternoon FREE
to re-visit the park or see the sunset from the ruins. Optionals: at 3
PM transfer to the Flores island if you prefer to stay there this
night. You can add the optional amazonic type river trip to the Ceibal ruins or the Yaxha ruins where the survival show was filmed,
canopy tour can be also arranged.
DAY 7/Fri/ (Free Breakfast) Free time to re-visit TIKAL
on the morning or explore Flores if you stayed there the night before, @
4 PM afternoon flight to Guatemala City.
Transfer to Posada Belen.
DAY 8/Sat/ DEPARTURE DAY FROM
GUATEMALA CITY. A morning
drive takes you to Guatemala City’s Aurora airport to catch your plane
home.
NOTE: Easter week and other special
celebrations like Christmas, New Year and others may follows a different
schedule and rules according to specific activities, but includes
same places and non Posada Belen overnight stays may increase in price.
