Silvertone Metal Beads — Fancy

Beads with character, a theme, or just ornate. As a focal point, or the perfect accent.

Where we know, we try to list what the metal is, but often, our suppliers don't tell us — mostly they are pewter or "white" metal (pot metal). We do not carry beads with a known lead content.

Silvertone means simple silver-coloured. We use the term "Sterling Silver" to indicate genuine silver - they are on their own page.

Flashback to the 70s! Remember mood rings? They're baaaack - almost. Mood beads - made on the same principle - it's a heat-sensitive liquid crystal - but these are nicer than the mood rings of the 70's - these are a nice hefty bead, with a great colour response. The surface is shiny and they are just overall handsome beads, regardless of their ability to change colour! At their coolest, they are black, but at even cool room temperatures they shade to lovely earthtone chestnut and gold colour. As you handle them, they develop greens and blue, and if you really heat them up, they go a deep lapis blue and some hints of purple. I swear, you'll be walking around, holding them up to light bulbs and sticking your hand in the freezer just to watch 'em change colour! More fun than a barrel of monkeys!
