Brushed Silver: Silver-Plated Copper Beads

Silver with a Brushed Finish! This very textural finish is so distinctive - shiny but textured. You can mix and match with other looks, of course. I personally adore this stuff!

This is silver plated over copper and supposedly has an anti-tarnish coating - but we have found, over time, that some of these have a high-enough silver content that they seem to want to darken anyway, just like sterling silver. It strongly resembles "Brushed Sterling" in both appearance and weight - but not in price! If you take a file to the silver plated copper - you can work your way down to the copper core if you wish to confirm it. We designate the Sterling as "Brushed Sterling" and the silver-plated at "Brushed Silver."

Brushed texture - interesting piece, this is. This is a bead - small hole side to side - you can see them strung at the top of the picture. But they are almost like a bezel inside - they have a track or a gap or a groove. Inside diameter of the big hole is 18 mm - or about a size 8 ring. I'm thinking there is some sort of potential to make this into a ring - with beads wired to the top hole? Hmmmm. Maybe it would be good filled with the ICE Resin?
