Stone Beads — Pyrite, HaematitePyrite, Iron Pyrites, "Fool's Gold." This metallic looking stone definitely has a different look. It can leave a mark when rubbed vigorously on a hard surface - we don't suggest wearing this on white, and due to it's rough texture, not on fragile silk either. But for an earthy look with a bit of glitz - fabulous! Haematite - when we have it - is a dull, grey metallic stone, noted for the reddish mark that it leaves when rubbed on a hard rough surface, i.e. concrete. Haematite is a natural stone - as opposed to Hematite (or Hemalyke) which is significantly processed - it is here. We try to choose consistent stock, but the nature of natural stones is that there will be inconsistency between strands and between individual beads. |
