Beads and Bail

Course Outline

The Chinese Ball Knot and the Turk’s Head Knot are easy to tie and have many useful applications for bead and fiber designs.

These knots can be used to construct beads, bails, bangles, rings and even pendants.  The Chinese Ball knot also makes a seamless and attractive fastener for cords ends.

Please note that the Chinese Ball Knot is not the same as the Chinese Button Knot.  They may look similar, but each has its own use and tying pattern.

In this class, students will learn to tie and finish the knots and discuss how to use each in different projects.  Time will be given to complete a set of Ball Knot beads.
