Introduction to Chinese Knotting

Course Outline

This course will introduce you to the traditional art of Chinese knotting. You will learn how to tie basic knots, such as the button knot and snake knot, and learn how to create an adjustable button knot cord fastener. We will also discuss how to incorporate these techniques into your jewellery when stringing or making pendant style necklaces.

Skill Level: Beginner

Prerequisite: N/A

Price: $30 (+GST), payment in advance required

Supplies: Practice cord kit included. You can also purchase necklace and pendant kits from $10 to $40. Lots of choice for contemporary or traditional designs including some old carved pendants from Hong Kong.

Instructor Bio:

Angela studied Chinese knotting while living in Hong Kong for 8 years. Now residing in Mexico, she continues to design one of a kind Asian inspired traditional and contemporary jewelry.
