A textural fabric is formed using triangle beads and crystals in the herringbone stitch. Useing three different colours the pattern appears to spiral the band, interrupted here and there by a flash of crystal. I find this stitch is ideal for a cuff style bracelet.
This bracelet is started and finished with a simple ladder stitch as a base from which to start the herringbone stitch. As you incorporate a sequence of three colours a pattern of diagonal bands of colour form across the bracelet. Interupting the sequence with a crystal randomly placed here and there forms rocks in the path of the pattern, creating a landscape all your own. No two bracelets are alike.
Technique Focus: Herringbone (Ndebele) stich with crystal inclusions.
Skill Level: Beginner
Instructor: Cindy has been avidly beading for somewhere around 10 years now. Beads and beading are a fascination and a compulsion for her as both her impressive bead stash and portfolio of finished works can attest. She is happiest when her hands are busy and can think of no better activity than beading to fulfill this need. She also plays with clay between beading and making her living as a set painter/house painter.

Items Required: 3 colours of triangle beads, either all size 11, or all size 8 - your choice.
Crystals - 4mm or 6mm, or a combination of both, clasp bead, and approximately 4m of beading thread, and a beading needle.
