Course Outline

Looking to expand your jewelry making skills? This eight week course will introduce you to a number of advanced techniques.

The course will focus on creating hollow forms and more advanced joining techniques, including rivets and hinges. You will also be introduced to the use of dapping blocks and prong settings, in addition to learning how to work with commercial findings to create the perfect piece of jewelry! Time will also be allotted for design and creations of your own unique jewelry piece.

Prerequisite: Jewelry 101 or equivalent


Time: 8 week class, see calendar for dates and times

Price: $400 (+GST), deposit or payment in advance required

Supplies: copper and brass included, additional materials fee for sterling and semi-precious stones (approx $50)

Instructor Bio:

Danielle is an emerging artist in the Toronto jewellery scene, and is already making a name for her clean, elegant designs.  A graduate of the Jewellery Arts Program at George Brown College, Danielle is inspired by the urban landscape, translating inspiration into wearable, sophisticated works of jewellery highlighting the intrinsic beauty of metal, natural gemstones and pearls.

Upon graduation from George Brown in 2005, Danielle was awarded the Made You Look Entrepreneur Award, given to the graduating student who demonstrates exceptional skill and entrepreneurial drive.  She is currently a resident designer at Made You Look Jewellery Studio & Gallery.  Her work is also on display at The Smith in Toronto’s Queen West arts district, Corktown Designs in the Distillery Historic District, Jeffrey Ross Jewellery in Uxbridge, Ontario, and at Gayweddings.com.  Danielle’s work has been featured in Toronto Fashion Week, The Globe & Mail, Wedding Bells, and Dolce Vita Magazine.
