Painted Beads

Course Outline

Learn how to use Paradise paints on your own handmade lampwork beads! This is a 2 day class.

Day 1 - Full Day 10am to 4pm

We will be outlining materials required for painting on glass as well as practicing hands-on glass cutting, paint mixing, painting and firing. The fired pieces you create will then be used on the following day. COE requirements and kiln types will also be discusssed.

Day 2 - Half Day Session - 9am to 12pm or 2pm to 5pm

We will learn to attach our painted images to a hot bead. Marking of mandrels and marvers to estimate bead size and placement will be discussed as well as use of the razor tool. Beads will be fired and available for pick-up on the following day.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Prerequisite: Previous flamework experience required.

Price: $160 (+GST), deposit or payment in advance required

Supplies: Includes materials used in class. Kits are available for purchase to take home.

Feel free to bring your own tools and flamework glasses

General Class Deposit Policy: Deposits are non-refundable. Notice given 5 days prior will be converted to store credit. Cancellation after that will forfeit the deposit.

Instructor Bio:

Deborah, affectionately known around here as Dread, is the consumate experimenter. Deborah has been interested in various art forms throughout her life. While spending a few years in the US, she jumped on the opportunity to take classes in lampworking, PMC, fusing, painting, silverwork, wirework, and beadwork - to name a few!
