Buildings, Boxes and Birdhouses

Course Outline

A great one day class that explores the 3-D box form. Choose your project and make one or two extraordinary boxes. You can structure your piece to be a ring, a pendant, a brooch, or a sculpture, or get creative and make it convertible.

This class will be offered first to students that are signed up for one of the other sessions, as it’s helpful to have a sense of how Kate works with metal clay to make the most of this one day session.

Prerequisite: Some metal clay experience.

Price: $250 (+GST), deposit or payment in advance required

Supplies: approx $100.00

Need to Bring: This is a full day class, please bring a lunch. Coffee, tea, pop are provided.

Instructor Bio:

Kate McKinnon has been designing and creating jewelry for over 10 years. She fell in love with metal clay in 1997 and hasn't looked back since. Kate lectures and teaches internationally and is the author of several popular books on jewelry tecnique. In 2005 Kate won the prestigious Saul Bell Award for excellence in PMC.

Kate currently lives in Tucson, Arizona, where she is working hard on finishing her latest book project.
