Course Outline:

Don't miss this exciting session with Kate, who has spent the last 12 years devising exciting ways to combine glass and metal.

In this excellent one-day class, Kate will show you not only how to make a variety of components to showcase your handmade glass, but will give you some exciting tips, tricks, and thoughts about using fine silver with your hot glass at the torch.

Projects will include a variety of settings for handmade glass, including beads and cabs. Students will make rings, links, handmade headpins, nifty pendant bails, an assortment of beadcaps and bits and parts, and if they wish, a Treasure Box to showcase a special bead.

Skill Level: Open to all levels.

Price: $250 (+GST), deposit or payment in advance required

Supplies: approximately $135.00 (+tax). Kit includes 50grams of PMC3, sterling silver wire and fine silver wire.

Need to Bring: This is a full day class, please bring a lunch. Coffee, tea, pop are provided.

Instructor Bio:

Kate McKinnon has been designing and creating jewelry for over 10 years. She fell in love with metal clay in 1997 and hasn't looked back since. Kate lectures and teaches internationally and is the author of several popular books on jewelry tecnique. In 2005 Kate won the prestigious Saul Bell Award for excellence in PMC.

Kate currently lives in Tucson, Arizona, where she is working hard on finishing her latest book project.
