Course Outline

During an intensive weekend, the main focus will be beads. This beginning to intermediate course will include many decorative techniques, e.g. surface decoration, sculptural, clear casing, and pulling cane skills. Lezlie will assist participants as they experiment with the use of dichroic glass and silver foil.

Lezlie pays great attention to the needs of every individuals, so bring all your questions. Demos can be adapted to achieve your personal goals.

Need to Bring: This is a full day class, please bring a lunch. Coffee, tea, pop are provided.

Please wear long sleeve cotton clothing, long hair must be tied back.

Instructor Bio:

The story of Lezlie Winemaker begins 21 years ago when she dreamed about combining her expertise in fashion with her formal training at art school - OCAD, York University, Parsons School of Design in New York City. She soon created such wonders in metal, glass, leather and mix-media sculpture that before long, Lezlie's beautiful jewelry, sculpture and accessories gained her a reputation as being one of Canada's most inspired and renowned creators of "wearable art".

Today, Lezlie displays and sells her art at selected craft shows, galleries and boutiques in Canada, the USA and the UK. An internationally renowned expert in the field, she travels the globe, speaking about her art and presenting workshops, her artistry featured in many popular magazines, art publications and national newspapers such as the Toronto Sun and National Post. She has appeared on the popular CityLine and most recently, Global Television.
