Coils, Knots & More

Course Outline:

So you’ve done some coiling and some knotting and even if you haven’t, no big deal! Yes let’s jazz it up a bit to create a coiled and knotted necklace with a bit of wire wrapping in two 2 hours sessions.

Focus Technique:Basic Pearl Knotting and Coiling

Skill Level: Beginner to all levels

Price: $40 (+HST), payment in advance required.

Supplies: Are not included in the class fee. Students should bring their own supplies. See supply list below.

Supply List:

• Approx. 10g 6/0 seed beads**
• 1 strand of stone chips
• 1 pair of clamshell tips
• 1 spool of C-lon beading thread
• Approx. 6” of chain of your choice and 6” of smaller chain (medium cable chain can be used)
• 1 pkg. of 7mm Jump rings (finish of your choice)
• 1 pkg. of 9mm Jump rings (finish of your choice)
• Toggle or clasp of your choice
• 22ga Artistic Wire ( finish of your choice)

Tools: 1 pair of *Fine Straight Tweezers or Bead Awl, Coiling Gizmo, Glue or clear nail polish, 1 pair of thread scissors.

The above items may be purchased in the store prior to class or students may bring in their own. Students receive a 15% discount on the day of the class.

**Please string seed beads onto wire before class.

Instructor Bio:

Rae Huggins has been designing and making jewellery for over 10 years. She is a member of the Toronto Bead Society and has taught at the society’s technique nights, at Bead Junction and at the Canadian Bead Oasis Show in Toronto. You can find Rae at Beadfx on weekends.
