Course Outline

Have you ever envisioned a texture you wished to incorporate into your metal clay designs, but found it impossible to duplicate using conventional stamps or molds?

The use of photopolymer plates allows you to imprint your own artwork onto your pieces.  In this one-day workshop you will learn how to make your own texture sheets to transfer line drawings, text or even photos onto fresh metal clay.  Final creations will then be embellished with 22k gold and a liver of sulphur patina.

Instructor Bio:

Suzanne has always had a love for precious, sparkly objects and has pursued the creation of art in many mediums since childhood. In a jewelry class at the Alberta College of Art and Design in 2000 it all came together. She discovered the beauty of heating up precious metals and watching solder flow.

In 2002 she moved to a new home just outside Toronto. No longer having the space for a full metal studio, she began researching Precious Metal Clay. This ground-breaking material allowed her to create detailed art pieces in fine silver and gold that might be impossible, or time prohibitive using traditional techniques. The possibilities seemed endless and she was hooked. In 2006 Suzanne became a certified PMC instructor and has also become a member of the Ontario Crafts Council.
