Join Kelly Garland for an Open Studio with a focus on jewelry fabrication in precious metals (sterling, fine silver, gold). You'll have the opportunity to practice your skills in wax carving for casting, forging, hollow form construction, gem setting, hinge making, technical drawing and advanced finishing techniques with full support from Kelly. If you are working in copper and brass but would like to take the leap to precious metal, this open studio is for you!
As with all Open Studios, these sessions are not classes; participants are expected to have experience in the related areas of activity. This open metal studio is for students who have already mastered basic skills such as soldering, annealing and sawing.
If you are interested in practicing something specific, please let Kelly know so she can bring the required tools or resources; fees for materials may apply. You can email Kelly at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please make sure you bring a studio apron to work in. If you are bringing your own tools, I recommend putting your initials on them for identification. You are required to supply your own solder and metal. Please bring a small jar for your metal dust!
Price: 20.00 +HST
Duration: approximately 3 hours
To register for this session, please call 416-751-1911 or toll-free 1-877-473-2323 now, because many of our sessions fill up quickly! We limit class sizes so you can get the best value.
