Japanese Stepping Stones Bracelet

Course outline: Create an unusual and contemporary bracelet that originates from the tradition of Japanese chainmaille. It's easy and to make and versatile - you could add charms to the large ring if you wished. The project is from my new book: Modern Chain Mail Jewelry. The matching necklace was selected for the photo on the cover.

Skill level: Beginner Plus

Prerequisite: Completion of a couple of chainmaille projects

Technique: Chainmaille

Bring to class: Tools designed for chainmaille will be provided for class use but you may bring your personal tools. Bring eyeglasses or magnifiers for close-up work.

Kit fees payable to instructor day of the class: The kit includes step-by-step, illustrated instruction, jump rings (Argentium sterling silver or copper) and classic, quality toggles in sterling or copper-plated pewter.

Class cancellation policy: If you need to cancel, please let us know 5 days prior to the class. Cancellations made later than that will forfeit the class deposit or fee. We may re-schedule or cancel classes if we do not receive the minimum number of bookings, or in case of bad weather or instructor illness. In this case, you will be notified and the fees will be refunded or issued as store credit.

About Marilyn Gardiner

Based in Waterloo, Marilyn teaches classes and sells her chain mail and beading kits both online and at bead shows across Canada and in the U.S. In 2007 Marilyn was selected as the “Artist in Residence: Beadwork” at the Joseph Schneider Haus in Kitchener, ON and in 2011 she was invited to include pieces in an international beadwork exhibit at the JOGS Gem and Jewelry Show in Tucson AZ. In 2012 she was invited to teach six classes at the Bead and Button Show in Milwaukee WI, the largest consumer bead show in the world.
