More Thoughts on Colour
Colour trends are all very well, but sometimes we feel like we get stuck using the same colours over and over. We want to try something different, but what? We're comfortable with the old standbys, whether it is silver and blue and white, or pink and purple or whatever your favourites are. Where to turn for inspiration?
Here's a few places to turn:
Benjamin Moore - they make paint - they know colour. BTW, I personally love playing with the "Personal Colour Viewer." However, their colour trends for 2006 have some very interesting options.
Fabric - find a pattern you love, and examine the colours. What makes it zing? Is it the contrast? Is it the pattern? If you find fabric stores to be entirely too dangerous (as you already have a large stash that you don't have time to use) or just not available - check out this cool site: Kravet.com.
Or take a look at some other artists' work. There is plenty to look at - we found these postcards by various artists.
Colour Trends - 2006
What colours will be hot in the coming year? If you make jewellery for re-sale - you might want to anticipate the coming colour-trends. Or, you might want to set your own trends. You might understand your own market or your own area better than the "experts." However, if you are interested - here are some thoughts and ideas!
