When I started thinking about my September 2018 Bead Mat Update, I thought that I really hadn’t accomplished much this month. But I was wrong!
During the “Back to Class” event, earlier this month, I played with the Freeform Peyote Bracelet, that I had started in my last class. I need to decide on a closure of some type. I think one of my bead embroidered buttons, will finish it off nicely.
Rose Gold Plated Hematite rounds, pair nicely with these Czech 6/0’s, to make a simple necklace. This one is around 30″ long, and will look maaavelous dahling, with some of my cooler weather clothing!
I dug into my components box, for something to include in my September 2018 bead mat update, then came up with this simple pair of earrings. Grey stones, look fabulous, paired up with sterling silver! I allowed the rings to float freely, but will need to be careful storing them, as I’d hate for them to come adrift! LOL!
Freeform Peyote Earrings are quite addicting! I wanted to make these ones suitable for wearing with blue jeans, but confess to getting carried away! They are a little long, but I can see them as the perfect accent to a black sweater, pair of skinny jeans, and sexy ankle boots! What the heck was I thinking??? I’m a denim, t-shirt, and running shoe person (but I wasn’t always), so where the heck would I get the sexy boots? I’ll hang on to them though, because they’ll definitely be suitable for a fancy schmantzy party, or even a gallery opening!
My first peyote bezelled cabochon! I love the large, turquoise cab, but the workmanship could be better! If I tear it apart, will you think I’m crazy? Stay tuned!
Next up, a sterling and turquoise bracelet that was a little large. I shortened it, and added a new clasp, but I’m still not sure that it’s finished. It’s definitely more wearable now, but I wonder how long it will take for the new clasp to tarnish?
Get ready for my latest Stitch Meditations! Surprise, a couple of them even have a sprinkling of beads! Did you know that I’m now up to #95, in my series of 100 Stitch Meditations? What should I work on next? The pieces will age in place, while I decide their fate! I need to first edit all of the ideas that are running through my head!
Well, that’s it for my September 2018 bead mat update! I’m getting ready for the new season, so watch out for a few new pieces in October. Also, check out our BeadFX class roster! You won’t be disappointed!!
