The Basics of ‘Peyote with a Twist, Not Crochet’

April 22 @ 11:30 am - 4:30 pm

Cdn $60.00

Course outline: Created by Gerlinde Lenz, this particular technique has caught the imagination of many seed beaders! Although the longest technique name in the world, ‘Peyote with a twist, not crochet’ gives the illusion of a beaded single-crocheted rope, but done using peyote stitch. Pamela Kearns will take you through the basics of how to create an even-count flat start and how to then create the tube and continue from there. This is a technique-based class; you will learn on size 8 seed beads and proceed, if you wish, to using size 11 seed beads. The class will also include how to finish the ends for a bracelet or necklace.

A project will not be the focus of this class, but information will be given about how to make a beaded length for a pendant and where to find patterns.

Skill level: Beginner Plus

Prerequisite: Experience with flat even-count peyote will be very beneficial but not required.
