Bead Making in Art Clay Silver

August 25 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm

Cdn $150.00

Course outline: Are you ready to move beyond the basics of creating flat pieces? Do you crave putting some dimension into your work? If you want to take your silver clay practice to the next level, this is the workshop for you!

Take a dive into creating constructed pieces made entirely from Art Clay Silver. We will explore hollow forms and how to build dimensional pieces. Jenn will show you a variety of ways she uses forms for shaping the clay. Learn her techniques for how to making strong attachments that will be both clean and secure. Methods for kiln firing dimensional pieces will be thoroughly demonstrated.

Two projects will be demonstrated: an open end bead and a lentil bead with variations on each. This workshop is process and technique driven. You will have time to create at your own pace with help and support available as needed. Make both projects, or focus time on your favorite design.

All materials, tools and equipment will be provided, but please bring your personal toolkit and any favourite tools you have. The cost of a tool kit (specific to the projects) is included in the workshop fee. Art Clay Silver is not included, but will be available for purchase at BeadFX.

This class is limited to only 4 students to allow lots of personal attention.

Skill level: Intermediate

Prerequisite: A working knowledge and experience using silver clay.

Technique: Metal clay construction and building hollow forms. While these techniques may be applied to all forms of metal clay, the focus of this workshop is exclusively Art Clay Silver.
