Chainmaille Christmas Gift Extravaganza

Course outline: Join Marilyn Gardiner and help solve your gift-giving dilemmas! It seems that some of us scramble at the last minute to find small gifts. Perhaps you need a thank you to someone who has given you excellent service, or maybe it’s a hostess gift, or perhaps it’s a lagniappe (look it up!).

You can sign up for all day ($60 + HST), or just the morning, or just the afternoon ($35 + HST for either). Please indicate your choice at the time of registration. Full day class will run 10:00am to 5:00pm with one hour lunch; morning class will run 10:00am to 1:00pm; afternoon class will be 2:00 – 5:00pm

I will have a good variety of kits for earrings, pendants, and zipper pulls (dangles) available. (Maybe even a tree decoration.) Everyone can be making something different, and Ill be right there to help. If there’s something in particular you want to make, let me know ahead so I’ll be sure to have what you want.

Skill level: All levels

Prerequisite: N/A; there will be offerings at all levels of experience.

Technique: Chainmaille

Kits: Kit prices range from about $14 to $50 with lots of choices at the less-expensive end. All kits include step-by-step, illustrated instructions, and all materials needed to complete the project. All rings are saw-cut and polished.

Bring to class: Eyeglasses or magnifiers for close-up work. Pliers designed for chainmaille will be provided for class use, but you with wish to bring your own tools or use the classroom tools. Bring a lunch if you are registering for the full day.

Of special note: the class patterns and instructions from our classes are for your personal use only. Please respect the intellectual property of our artists/instructors by not sharing, selling, or teaching the patterns you receive from the classes you take.

How to Register:

  • You may register by phone at (416) 751-1911, or in-person at our store.
  • Payment or a deposit is required in advance for registration.
  • Some classes have associated kit fees, please check class details to see where applicable. Some kit fees are payable to the store, some to the instructor and may be cash only in that case.
  • For some studio classes, those using fire-breathing torches and fast spinny things a waiver must be signed acknowledging you have experience or training in their use, and we will ensure you have training to work safely!
  • Some classes have age requirements. Students MUST be 18 years or older in order to be able to take any of our lampworking, soldering, fusing, and some metalsmithing classes.

Class Cancellation Policy:

  • If you need to cancel, please let us know 5 days prior to the class. Cancellations made later than that will forfeit the class deposit or fee.
  • We may re-schedule or cancel classes if we do not receive the minimum number of bookings, or in case of bad weather or instructor illness. In this case, you will be notified and the fees will be refunded or issued as store credit.
