Chainmaille with Scales: Bracelet and Earrings

September 9, 2018 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Cdn $40.00 +Kit fee: $15, payable to the instructor the day of the class

scale-bracelet-collage-700wCourse outline: Instructor Gillian Clarke with show how chainmaille becomes dramatic when you add metal scales! This narrow scaled bracelet may look a little spiky, but it is actually easy to wear and quite soft and stroke-able. Its also very easy to make even for complete beginners and works up quickly enough that you should be able to complete two bracelets in class. You will also make matching earrings!

If you are ready for a bit more of a challenge, you have the option of making a second bracelet: a wide European chainmaille cuff with scales.

We will use anodized aluminum jump rings and scales in your choice of colours. Your kit fee covers the materials to make one narrow bracelet and a pair of earrings. Extra kits will be available.

Skill level: Beginner and up

Prerequisite: N/A

Technique: Chainmaille

Bring to class: If you have your own pair of flat nosed pliers please bring them, but tools will also be available in class. Bring magnification if you need it.
