Creative Play Series, Session 3: Paper Bowls

June 8, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Cdn $25.00 +Kit fee: $10, payable to the instructor the day of the class.

Course outline: An exploratory series, focused on out-of-the-box thinking, creative techniques, exciting materials, and mini-projects. A play box full of hands on, mixed media, beading, textile, jewellery, and stitching techniques will be shared (but not all in the same session). Not intended as a class, or workshop, but rather an open sharing of information, and technique taster, for those with curious minds. The focus will be on encouraging participants to take their work to the next level!

Session 3 will focus on making bowls using various types of papers.

Skill level: All levels

Prerequisite: N/A

Technique: Play with paper, giggle a lot, get a little messy, and make a paper bowl! Suitable for decorating shelves, and holding special beads and jewelery items.

Bring to class: Enthusiasm, a smile, and a sense of humour. Notebook, pen, pencil, ruler, paper scissors, foam brush. The instructor will provide some paper, but please bring additional papers to personalize your own bowls. Think thinner, rather than thicker papers! Scrapbook paper is not suitable! Anything from monoprints (as made in Session 1), to old letters, ledger paper, magazine cut-outs, book pages, Japanese or origami paper, cancelled stamps, etc. Trading and recycling is strongly encouraged! Any other supply requirements, will be available at BeadFX, prior to the session.
