Creative Play Series, Session 5: Experimenting with Alcohol Inks

October 19 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Cdn $25.00 +Kit fee: $15, payable to the instructor the day of the class.

Course outline: An exploratory series, focused on out-of-the-box thinking, creative techniques, exciting materials, and mini-projects. A play box full of hands on, mixed media, beading, textile, jewellery, and stitching techniques will be shared (but not all in the same session). Not intended as a class, or workshop, but rather an open sharing of information, and technique taster, for those with curious minds! The focus will be on encouraging participants to take their work to the next level!

Session 5 will focus on alcohol inks.

Skill level: All levels

Prerequisite: Students must have taken an Alcohol Ink class (i.e., Altered Dominos I & II), or have hands-on experience, working with Alcohol Inks. Think of this as a play date, to expand on your current experience.

Technique: Alcohol Inks – taking them to the next level

Bring to class: Enthusiasm, a smile, and a sense of humour. Students will need to either bring their own small substrates (glass, dominos, other game pieces, metal, Yupo Paper), or purchase prior to the class. If you have your own alcohol inks, blending solution, blending tool and felt pads, please bring them along. Notebook, pen, and paper! Gloves and respirator, if sensitive to fumes. Any other supply requirements (such as gloves, metal and glass blanks, bezels, etc.), will be available at BeadFX, prior to the session.

Of special note: the class patterns and instructions from our classes are for your personal use only. Please respect the intellectual property of our artists/instructors by not sharing, selling, or teaching the patterns you receive from the classes you take.
