Creative Play Series, Session 7: Scrappy Tags

December 7, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Cdn $25.00 +Kit fee: $5 payable to the instructor the day of the class.

Course outline: An exploratory series, focused on out-of-the-box thinking, creative techniques, exciting materials, and mini-projects. A play box full of hands on, mixed media, beading, textile, jewellery, and stitching techniques will be shared (but not all in the same session). Not intended as a class, or workshop, but rather an open sharing of information, and technique taster, for those with curious minds! The focus will be on encouraging participants to take their work to the next level!

Session 7 will focus on creating Scrappy Tags.

Skill level: All levels

Prerequisite: A love of colour, paper, ink, and paints. Think of this as a play date, to expand on your current experience. Excellent for hanging on trees, tying on holiday gifts, or even identifying your luggage. No worries if you do holidays, other themes are definitely possible!

Technique: Creating re-usable tags, suitable for gift giving, ornaments, or even luggage. We will be focusing on recycling, collage and painting techniques, using easy to source, and very inexpensive components. Multiple techniques will be discussed, and you will leave the class with a minimum of 2-3 finished tags! I guarantee that you wont be able to make just one!

Bring to class: Enthusiasm, a smile, and a sense of humour. Notebook, pen, paper scissors, and paper! Also, please bring along any holiday cards, drawings, giftwrap, or specialty papers, you would like to include on your pieces. Sharing will be encouraged!

Of special note: the class patterns and instructions from our classes are for your personal use only. Please respect the intellectual property of our artists/instructors by not sharing, selling, or teaching the patterns you receive from the classes you take.
