Silver Metal Clay Rings (2 days)

Course outline: Join me, Jenn Jevons, for this two day workshop entirely dedicated to Art Clay Silver RINGS! If you’ve ever wondered how to make strong, durable and fun rings, this is the workshop for you. We will explore various techniques for making ring bands, and I’ll show you my tips and tricks for making attachments. I’ll tell you the pros and cons of making rings with Art Clay vs. ACS 950, and I will cover a simple method of setting stones to pretty up your projects. I’m not holding anything back! If you have been waiting for an advanced metal clay workshop, this is your chance!

Prior knowledge and experience working with metal clay is a must, this workshop is not appropriate for beginners. A starter ring toolkit is included in the workshop fee. Art Clay Silver will be available for purchase at BeadFX.

This workshop is limited to only 4 seats to ensure lots of personal attention.

This class will take place on Monday, October 16 and Monday, October 23; 12:00 – 7:00pm both days.

Early Bird Special: Register on or by Monday, October 2 and save $50 on the registration fee: $345 + HST! As of August 2, the registration fee will go to the regular price of $395 + HST.

Skill level: This workshop is not appropriate for beginners.

Prerequisite: Prior knowledge and experience working with ACS or other fine silver metal clay is a must. No experience – no problem: take the Introduction to Art Clay Silver class on August 9! For questions or additional information, you can email Jenn directly at jenn@mcatelier.ca.

Technique: Art Clay Silver rings

Bring to class:

  • Magnification (reading glasses/optivisor) if required.
  • One or more packages of ACS 950, depending on your project(s)
  • Your personal metal clay tools
  • As these are a full day classes, please bring a lunch; the class will include a half-hour hour break. Coffee, water and cold drinks will be provided.

Of special note: the class patterns and instructions from our classes are for your personal use only. Please respect the intellectual property of our artists/instructors by not sharing, selling, or teaching the patterns you receive from the classes you take.

How to Register:

  • You may register by phone at (416) 751-1911, or in-person at our store.
  • Payment or a deposit is required in advance for registration.
  • Some classes have associated kit fees, please check class details to see where applicable. Some kit fees are payable to the store, some to the instructor and may be cash only in that case.
  • For some studio classes, those using fire-breathing torches and fast spinny things a waiver must be signed acknowledging you have experience or training in their use, and we will ensure you have training to work safely!
  • Some classes have age requirements. Students MUST be 18 years or older in order to be able to take any of our lampworking, soldering, fusing, and some metalsmithing classes.

Class Cancellation Policy:

  • Refunds will not be permitted for this class! Credit will be applied toward another or future class with Jenn Jevons.
  • If you need to cancel, please let us know 5 days prior to the class. Cancellations made later than that will forfeit the class deposit or fee.
  • We may re-schedule or cancel classes if we do not receive the minimum number of bookings, or in case of bad weather or instructor illness. In this case, you will be notified and the fees will be refunded or issued as store credit.

Students are eligible for our 15% student discount card! Get yours when you check-in for your class at the front desk. Not all merchandise is included in the student discount program.
