May 2018 Bead Mat Update: Two steps back, one step forward!

My May 2018 bead mat update signals a return to my roots. Fibre has always been my first love, and I must admit that I’m enjoying the process immensely. Did my Stitch Meditations have anything to do with my current obsession with fibre? I certainly expect so! What if I combined fibre, beads, embroidery, felting, and natural elements? Isn’t that what I’m all about? My muse was whispering insistently, so I just had to shut her up!! This stitched stone has been sitting on the sidelines for a while, but I decided to finish it off with freeform peyote, just …

April 2018 Bead Mat Update: Just muddling around!

Some might say that my April 2018 bead mat update is a real mess! Not so, but perhaps I should explain! I’ve been kidnapped by the joy of Stitch Meditations! Thank you Liz Kettle, for enabling me!! If so, I’ll be holding an introductory …

Mystery beads, were dropped off in my box at work, and although nobody has admitted leaving them, they’ll come in handy for my January and February, Freeform Peyote …

Plan to reduce, reuse, recycle and create in 2017!

Although I do not make New Year’s resolutions, the words reduce, reuse, recycle and create, are ones that I’d like to adopt for 2017. Yes, I know that I already preach about reusing, recycling, and creating, but what’s all this reducing about? No, not the diet thing, but rather a conscious effort to reduce visible clutter!   Over the holidays, I decided that enough, was enough! It was time to start organizing the archeology dig, I call my studio/sewing room. The bags, boxes and storage totes, had obviously staged a coup, and there wasn’t any room for me to work …
