The challenge beads - the gold and green squarelets and ovaltines - reminded me of early spring, when everything is that very new green. My creation evolved from that early spring idea!
The wire crochet part was of course "inspired" by The Dixon Chick. I thought the drops and squarelets lent themselves very well to being crocheted. I crafted the focal piece by hand using the crochet wire, because I thought it needed a drop of some kind but didn't have any large beads on hand that would suit the job.
You can see more of Cynthia's work and read her Cynful Musings on her blog.(The earrings were a late inspiration - so their components aren't listed with the others - but you should be able figure it out.)If you are unfamiliar with crocheting with wire - try
Stephanie "The Dixon Chick" Dixon's Wire Crochet class. Even if you have never crocheted before - you can learn to do this. (
