Winter Elmby: Erin Singleton
This piece was inspired by the snowflakes falling gently on the elm outside my window. The pearls enclosed in ruffles of wire mesh mimic the seeds of the elm.

To make this up:
A few pearls strung on 1 mm brass wire lace, spaced every 1.5 inches, approximately. I didn't glue these into position - and they seem to be staying in place ok - but you could add a tiny dot of
hypo-tube cement if you wanted to.
Twelve pearls inserted into 6 mm pale gold wire lace tube. Alternate sections of "crushed tube" with sections of stretched out ruffles, each with a pearl enclosed. Twists between the ruffles hold the piece in shape.
6 mm pale silver wire lace "crushed" by running Miyuki fringe drops along its length.Eight fringe drops strung on the wire lace. Ruffles pulled in areas opposite the ruffles in the pale gold strand. Twists of the wire lace and fringe drops used to keep the ruffles in place.
Remaining pealrs strung on Softflex and held in four floating groups with crimps.
Strands attached to the headpin by knotting the wirelace as per the "How to make a
multi-strand" tutorial. (Or an eyepin - I just didn't happen to have an eyepin at the time)
