You never get a second chance to make a first impression - and Impression Jasper impressed the heck out of me, the first time I saw it. I haven't read anything that says it is for sure colour enhanced, but I don't believe for a moment that the colours are that intense when it comes out of the ground. If they were - it would be 10 times the price!

The rich colours and the abstract trails really do it for me - so when I saw these cabochons - I knew I had to do something with it!

A bail is glued onto the cabochon for hanging. I've also been using the bail-making pliers for the wrapped loops - I'm definitely liking them for consistent sized loops.

I thought about putting a few beads under where the bail would sit - and decided not to. Then I discovered that the spacing wouldn't stay nice, so I went back and slipped a crimp cover over the gap, under the bail - to keep the side beads from riding into the space.

I really like the way this turned out - sort of a cross between the Native American Squash Blossom Turquoise necklaces and Egyptian funerary jewelry.  ;-)
