Well - it's actually only one French Hen - but we're going to make a bird's nest ring with a French Hen and 3 eggs. You never know - they might hatch into 3 French Hens! Or you might get a rooster, in which case, this is a Cocktail Ring.


Instructions:

• On 1 metre of 20 gauge wire, centre  the hen bead on the wire and cross the wire over at the bottom.
• Place the bead and wire together on the back of ring mandrel in the groove.
• Wrap each end of wire around the mandrel in opposite directions - see photo. (3-5 times around the mandrel.)
  
• Bring the wire up and start creating a nest by wrapping the wire around the bead. (One wire goes clockwise, the other goes counter clockwise - doesn't matter which one.)
  
• When you have about three inches left of wire left on each end, push the wire through the centre of the ring and wrap around the shank of the ring approximately 3 times (odd numbers are always better). Cut the wire closely and use your chain nose pliers to tuck in the end.
• Weave a length of 26 gauge wire into the existing bird's nest. Add three "eggs" using the ivory Swarovski gemstone pearls. There is no right or wrong way to place them. I just added them one at a time and wrapped the wire around the nest a few times. When you are satisfied with the amount of 26 gauge you 've added, weave in and out of the nest and around the shank very close to where you did the wrap with the 20 gauge wire. Cut the wire and tuck in.
• If there are any loose spots of wire, you can tighten then up by using your round nose pliers and creating Z bends. Insert you round pliers into the area of wire you want tightened and gently turn the pliers until the shape of a Z appears in the wire.
