Sweet Valentineby: Dwyn Tomlinson
Yes - we're just one measly month away from the annual chocolates and flowers holiday!
Yo - Dudes. Be a hero for ever. Make this for your sweetheart and wow her.
This is a simple stringing project. The finished necklace is about 19 inches, but feel free to adjust to taste.
Instruction:
- Slide the pinch bail onto the heart pendant and squeeze shut, making sure the posts go into the hole of the pendant.
- add 2 jumprings, and attach the bail with the loop. You need 2 jumprings so that the heart lines up the right way. If you use one, it will hang sideways.
- Cut your desired length plus about 4 inches for ease of stringing and adding the crimps
- string 11 pearls and move to the centre.
- Add your pendant. Actually - the bail I used slides over all the beads - so you could add it at the end, but adding it now ensures that you don't forget, or if you use a different bail, you are still ok.
- on each side of the centre pearls we are going to add mini-ovals. Each mini-oval is flanked by a sterling daisy spacer, and separated by a pearl.
- The first set of mini-ovals will be a set of 3, then a set of two (separated by 5 pearls), then three sets of one (also separated by 5 pearls) - and ending with 5 pearls.
Or, to put it another way, on each side of the centre 11 pearls, string
- a daisy spacer, a mini-oval, a daisy spacer, a pearl
- repeat 3 times
- now add 4 more pearls and then
- a daisy spacer, a mini-oval, a daisy spacer, a pearl
- repeat 2 times
- add 4 more pearls
- a daisy spacer, a mini-oval, a daisy spacer, a pearl
- add 4 more pearls
- a daisy spacer, a mini-oval, a daisy spacer, a pearl
- add 4 more pearls
- a daisy spacer, a mini-oval, a daisy spacer, a pearl
- add 4 more pearls.
Then add a crimp, a soldered jumpring on one side, go back through the crimp and secure. On the other side add a crimp, the clasp, and go back through the crimp and secure. Trim the ends. Cover the crimps with a crimp cover.
