When I saw these rusty, rustic pendants, I knew I had to do something with them - because, well, they have horses. Horses and dragons - can't resist either one, but horses do have the advantage of being real, actual creatures that you can ride.

I did struggle with the design for this, I don't mind telling you. This turned out a little dressier than the casual, funky look that I had in mind, but that's okay. It's not so dressy that you can't find an occasion to wear it, and makes a nice statement about what you are really interested in.

To start, make the pendant. Start with an 8 inch piece of wire, and make a wrapped loop. Then add:

• gold spacer, copper spacer, black donut, copper spacer, gold spacer
• iron zebra jasper
• gold spacer, copper spacer, black donut, copper spacer, gold spacer
• START the end loop, and add the pendant BEFORE you close the loop. If you forget this step, cut the wire and start again. Or use a jumpring to attach the pendant. That's ok too.
  

This necklace is 17 inches. To make it longer or shorter, adjust the number of black donuts near the end. I start my necklaces in the middle, as I am making them up as I go along, but you can start at the ends, as I have done all the hard work for you already.

Next, take your beading cable, and attach one half of the clasp with a crimp, and cover it with a crimp cover. Trim the beading cable and then string

• one black donut
• copper spacer, gold spacer, copper spacer
• 5 black donuts
• copper spacer, gold spacer, copper spacer
• 4 black donuts
• copper spacer, gold spacer, copper spacer
• 1 black donut
• copper spacer, gold spacer
• 12 mm round
• gold spacer, copper spacer, black donut, copper spacer, gold spacer (element A)
  
• 12 mm round (element B)
  
• continue alternating element A and B until you have eight 12 mm rounds, then
• gold spacer, copper spacer, black donut
• now, add the pendant
• then REVERSE OUT - adding the same beads in the reverse order, ending with the other half of the clasp. 

And there you are - ready for the next round up!
