Sterling Simplicity

by: Dwyn Tomlinson

Some of you may have seen this before - but it seemed timely to re-add it to the site. A chain, a clasp, a bead - it doesn't get much simpler than this!

Course, some of you may recognize it as being inspired by jewellery at a well-known jewellery store!

For this, I had to forsake my favourite split rings for attaching the clasps. By the time I had them open enough to slide over the chain, they were not going to close properly again. A single jumpring (amazing how things slid out of the gap!) did not seem secure enough, so I went with double jumprings. Seems to work well with the massiveness of the chain.

A headpin with a shiny ball end completes the look of the silver heart, a 3 mm round above it also adds a finished look. A complex wrap to attach it to the chain at the ring side of the toggle (don't put it on the bar side - it interferes with fastening the clasp) Bingo! You're done. You can assemble this while your significant other showers, and wear it to dinner. (Trust me - I've done this!)
