Citrus Splash - Earrings

Design by Dwyn Tomlinson

Make a splash - try our gemstone cut cubic zirconia, strung as beads. You can use a headpin with a decorative end to make earwires to match the rest of your design.

Component list below.

Supplies needed

8 x Sterling Headpins - Flat Flower - 2 inches (The ones pictured are slightly different - from my stash, but these should work)

6 of 3mm Round Sterling Beads (100)

2 x Cubic Zirconia - Padparadschah - 18 mm Pear Drop - (1)

4 x Cubic Zirconia - Sunshine - 14 mm Marquis - (1)

Tools needed

Flush Cutters - to cut wire

File to smooth ends of hand-made ear wires (or fine sandpaper, 400 grit or finer). An emery board will work if you don't have a file handy.

Crimp pliers Use to tuck the end of the wire in tight after the wrap.

Round Nose Pliers - Fine Round nose pliers, to bend around for making wrapped loops and the earwires.

Assembly

Thread the pear drop cz's onto head pins, bend at 90 degrees.

Thread the marquis cut onto headpins, bend 90 degrees . . .

and make a wrapped loop.
Use 3 mm sterling rounds to space out the marquis's.
Complete the earring dangle with a wrapped loop.
To make you own earwires, start by using the round nose pliers to make a 90 degree bend at the end.

Then shape in to the curve of the earwire (I just bend around my finger).

Trim the long end (you can look at an existing pair of earwires to get an idea of the curve and length). File off the end so that it is nice and smooth.

Slip the dangle onto the ear wire and you're done!
