Copper Lustre Necklace
Design by Jennifer Tough
I admit it, I do have a fondness for Swarovski, sterling, gemstones, and other assorted fancies. The problem with this is that they can wreck havoc on your savings account! Enter the seedbead, these little beauties are often overlooked by those new to beading. Some find they're simply too small to work with, or too difficult. A great way to get started using them in beginner projects is to use them as "filler", or spacer beads. For example, the necklace below would have cost a small fortune if I carried the Bali, and Swarovski theme throughout. In this necklace, the majority of beads are in fact size 6/0 seed beads, with some of the fancies strategically placed. Don't forget that seed beads are glass, and have a wonderful sparkle and lustre. Don't let the low price fool you! So, let's mix it up.....
