Spring is here, and with it comes a return to creativity! Dark winter days fry my brain cells, but the muse knows when she needs to re-energize! It’s well past time to create, and my April Bead Mat Update was due!
Good Friday was a perfect day in Toronto (the best day of the long weekend)! What better way to spend it, than to take a trip to the beach, to collect bits and pieces? About time, I say! Good company, sunshine, not much wind, driftwood, stones, friendly puppies, and free parking! What more could a girl ask? To win the lottery perhaps, but fantasy and reality are two entirely different things, and I’m a realist! Sigh!
The muse needed to kick herself into high gear, as the call was out for more BeadFX Inspirations. I was able to whip out three new projects. One will be on-line soon (no photo), and the following photos are teasers, for future weeks! Did you notice that I have a vintage, antique brass theme going on? Not my normal style, but one that I find particularly satisfying! I’m so suggestible, that I’m being heavily influenced by the magazines I’m reading! Is that a bad thing?
All three projects were completed early, so I pulled out my much-neglected embroidery project. I still had two more free days! Remember how I was all gung ho, earlier in the year? Shame on me! I do enjoy embroidery, but really must spend more time on it!
I needed to buy a rasp (I thought that they were for garlic and parmesan cheese!), and some sandpaper for another project, but more about that in future weeks. Hint! It’s wood related!!
For now, I’ll show you a few photos from my beach trip. The driftwood in the photo, was obviously a bit too large to carry home. LOL! Beach glass, stones, and smaller pieces of driftwood (including the birdlike head), did come along for the ride, so the ideas are still percolating! Not in the stars for my April Bead Mat Update, but you never know how I’ll transform them, in future blog posts. I can’t wait for my next beach excursion!
Get yourself out there, and celebrate spring! There’s always the chance that we’ll get more of the white stuff, but I’m still optimistic! What does good weather do to your creativity? Are you inspired to create, or just to dig in the garden? Gardening is creative too, but it’s something to do during the day… beading is for the rest of the time! Enjoy!
