De’ Pearl Necklace

November 30 @ 10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Cdn $60.00 +Kit fee: $30, payable to the instructor the day of the class.

Course outline: If diamonds are a girl’s best friend, then pearls must be a woman’s. De’ Pearl is a necklace which is as unique as the person making it. With guidance from Deborah Beesley, you will learn how to form the frame along with the design technique for twisting your way to creating this collar length necklace, using medium-fine gauge wire, and embellishing with pearls and beads. Students should be comfortable with a random approach to placement of bead embellishments. Techniques include: twisted wire; wire wrapping; wrapped loops.

Skill level: Intermediate

Prerequisite: Experience working with wire and twisted wire in particular will be beneficial to the student. Tangled Chips Bracelet is a good prerequisite class if you’ve had no prior experience in twisted-wire.

Technique: Wirework, twisted wire

Bring to class:

  • Students should bring a Sharpie and magnification as required.
  • Students may use the in-class tools available to them. We will be using 2-pair of flat nose pliers, round nose pliers, nylon jaw flat pliers, and flush cutters in class.
  • Students should bring lunch. Coffee and cold drinks will be available.

Of special note: the class patterns and instructions from our classes are for your personal use only. Please respect the intellectual property of our artists/instructors by not sharing, selling, or teaching the patterns you receive from the classes you take.
