Moorish Rose Chainmaille Pendant

September 28 @ 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Cdn $40.00 +Kit fee: $10, payable to the instructor the day of the class.

Course outline: Moorish Rose is the chainmaille weave most likely to make your brain melt. Interlocking Mobius spirals of rings make a dreamy, swirly and very confusing weave. Not for the faint of heart! However if you do want to tackle it, this class with Gillian Clarke is a great place to start. We will make a pendant from a single hexagonal unit with six swirls surrounding a central Mobius core. This will teach you the basic skills you need to make bigger pieces with this weave AND it can be completed in a single class. NOTE: huge credit to Lisa Ellis (aka The Armorer’s Wife) whose video tutorials have explained this weave to the world.

Skill level: Advanced

Prerequisite: Previous chainmaille experience, comfortable with making Mobius units, and lots of patience!

Technique: Chainmaille

Bring to class: If you have your own flat nosed pliers (2 pairs are required) please bring them, but tools will also be available in class. Bring magnification if you need it.

Of special note: the class patterns and instructions from our classes are for your personal use only. Please respect the intellectual property of our artists/instructors by not sharing, selling, or teaching the patterns you receive from the classes you take.
