Random Thoughts and Beauty Shots!

Why random thoughts and beauty shots? I didn’t have anything else planned, but thought that you might be interested, in everything else that I’ve been working on. First, the freeform peyote stone, I started on January 19th, in my Freeform Peyote Explorations workshop. I beaded like crazy, and am happy to have it finished. But I confess that it did become quite the obsession! Isn’t that always the case? You don’t work on anything for ages (due to broken elbow, of course), then overdo just a little. No pain anymore, but my eyes took quite the workout! I’m happy with the …

December 2019 Bead Mat Update: and more retro!

My December 2019 Bead Mat Update is still a little sparse, but I’ve fleshed it out with more retro photos. Words will still be shorter than normal, but definitely longer than last week! My friend Diane was de-stashing, and mailed me a few goodies from Texas. As soon as I spotted this experimental handwoven piece, I decided that I needed to create something with it for Christmas. As I live close to a very large lake (Lake Ontario), my gifts include beach glass, driftwood, and stones! Not only tangible gifts, but how about the gift of peace, sunshine, seabirds, exercise, fresh air, and serenity? I find beach walking to …

May 2018 Bead Mat Update: Two steps back, one step forward!

My May 2018 bead mat update signals a return to my roots. Fibre has always been my first love, and I must admit that I’m enjoying the process immensely. Did my Stitch Meditations have anything to do with my current obsession with fibre? I certainly expect so! What if I combined fibre, beads, embroidery, felting, and natural elements? Isn’t that what I’m all about? My muse was whispering insistently, so I just had to shut her up!! This stitched stone has been sitting on the sidelines for a while, but I decided to finish it off with freeform peyote, just …
