African Turquoise - actually mined in Africa - is Spotted Teal Jasper. With a blackish matrix and the occasional shiny glint like pyrite, and its light bluish-green colour - it certainly resembles the greener forms of turquoise, being just a little harder and smoother and a little glossier. Design-wise - you can certainly use it in the same sorts of designs.
Mohs Hardness = 7
Metaphysically - as a true jasper - it has calming and grounding properties, and has also become known for bringing positive change and development in life. It can also bring great creativity.
