Large seedbeads — relatively speaking — these are also known as "Pony beads" or "E" beads. They come in a wide range of colours and are fairly inexpensive.

They vary by colour, but there are approximately 12 - 14 size 6/0 Czech beads in a gram, so a bag of 20 would be about 280 beads, give or take. They are generally about 3.7 - 4 mm wide, by approximately 3 mm, and the holes are 1.2-1.3mm. Any thread and any needle works, and you can put them on 1mm leather, cord, and wire too. They are hugely versatile!
