Bugle beads - Thin glass tubes.

These glass cut bugle beads are made in the Czech republic by Preciosa, fine tumbled in order to smooth off sharp edges and heat polished. They are used for jewelry making, beaded fringe, bead embroidery, and ladder and brick stitch patterns.

Experienced beaders will often put a seedbead at each end of the bugle to make a nice rounded edge for the thread to glide over safely.
