Here is the Metal! Findings are all those little bits and pieces you need to connect, clasp, crimp and finish your jewelry. Crimps and clasps and ear wires and headpins and etc. Also - other necessary items that are hard to classify.

The story goes that when jewellers would make something - all the little odds and ends of scrap wire and ends of metal would get put aside. Then, when they needed a clasp or a headpin or something, they would turn to the little bin of scraps, and make what they needed out of the stuff that they found there. Hence the term, "findings." That's what I've been told, and it makes a nice story anyway.
