Approx. 18-19 ga wire - a substantial, largish wire. Fine silver is pure, 99.9% silver (as opposed to sterling - which is 92.5% silver). Round in profile. Fine silver does not tarnish to the same degree as sterling, does not work-harden (get stiff and brittle as you bend it) like sterling, and is used in lampworking for fuming and decorating beads. This size is perfect for a source of fine silver for fuming. Excellent for sturdy bails and loops in Metal Clay. As much as possible, we try to send your order in one piece.
