Is it wire, or is it a rod? This is large - certainly large enough to be the shank of a ring. Fine silver is pure, 99.9% silver (as opposed to sterling - which is 92.5% silver). Round in cross-section. Temper is dead soft (very easy to bend.). Fine silver does not tarnish to the same degree as sterling, does not work-harden (get stiff and brittle as you bend it) like sterling. This is large enough for fusing projects (fine silver wire fusing) or hammering projects. As much as possible, we try to send your order in one piece. If it is critical, please let us know.
