Boho Chic style: What is it? Is it still valid?

I certainly hope so, because I don’t plan to give it up, anytime soon! Boho Chic is relatively new (at its height in 2005), but it’s roots go much deeper, and will probably never go away. It was born out of the 60’s and 70’s, but in reality, goes back much further than that! According to so-sew-easy.com – “Boho is the shortened form of Bohemian. Bohemian is a wonderful word and an even more wonderful thing to be. It’s a French word derived from the term referring to gypsies, adventurous souls, artists and socially unconventional people, with an alternative lifestyle …

InspirationFX: Sexy Hexy

Get your creative juices flowing~~~ Sexy Hexy by: Anne Marie Desaulniers I was filling an order for a customer, and minding my own business, when what did I spy, but some very sexy little hexagon findings. I immediately decided that I should make a bracelet out of them, then set about searching for just the right components! I danced about the store, trying this and rejecting that, until I was satisfied with my choices. Simplicity was the key, so I chose a very earthy, and harmonious palette. Sexy, but understated, with a little metallic leather thrown in, to spice it …

Button up – it’s cold outside!

We give a hoot – we really do! Cuz baby – it’s cold outside. You can button up, button down, or butt on in. čśë …

What’s on my bead mat – February edition?

Not sleet, nor snow, nor freezing rain, will stop me from sharing my latest bead mat update. Well, a power outage might, but so far, I’ve been lucky! February is a busy month, on the old bead mat! I’m working on a 3-strand, leather, stone and metal bracelet, and still need to add a coat of resin to my Pebeo Fantasy Paint, heart bezel. Both are close to being finished, but I need to set aside a little time complete these projects. I’m happy to say that I’m making progress on my loomed bracelet, but visions of freeform pendants, and …

 Back from Tucson

By Cindy Goldrick It was, as always, a whirlwind of excitement under sunny blue skies. I got out to a few shows but spent most of my time at the To Bead True Blue show.  At the Pueblo show I drooled over the Fretz Tools and ended up splurging on Bill’s new cast iron soldering pan — just the small one though, since I was pretty sure the big one would tip my luggage over the 50lb mark. I’m in love with it and I know it will last a lifetime.  Also at the Pueblo show I found a smoking …

You’ll Love our February Classes

In writing this week’s blog I looked up synonyms for love; after all, Valentine’s Day is coming up. I found words like ‘adore’, ‘immensely enjoy’ and quite a few others that were not appropriate for any blog. So, let’s see what words we can use! Our mid-February classes feature quite a few new classes that you’ll treasure. Pamela Kearns is teaching the Dot Stitch – a variation of spiral rope that creates clusters that resemble little beaded beads that you’ll want to include in your designs. Anne Marie Desaulniers has a new bead embroidery project that seed beaders will cherish. …
