~~~Get your creative juices flowing
by: Dwyn Tomlinson
I initially started making these from gemstone strands that come with silk tassels – then I realized that with the silk tassels we have for sale – you can get the same fun look with other beads! You can use a simpler clasp if you like, but I think that it really makes the piece, although a small magnetic clasp might be easier if you struggle with bracelet clasps. Check our Manager Specials for clasps.
The bracelet is straight-foward stringing. Reserve two beads for the tassels. (For the lavender amethyst coins – I did not have enough length for two beads left over, but you might if you have smaller wrists.)
For the tassel. Cut a piece of fairly fine wire, 24 gauge is good, about 6 inches long. Slip one end into the loop of the silk tassel, and fold the wire in half, putting a few twists to keep the tassel in place. Add the bead. If there is room, put both ends of the wire through. (If not, fold one wire out of the way. You can finish it with making a nice wrap around the wire and trimming off.) Start a loop at the top, add to the loop of the clasp, and finish the wire with a wrap in a wrapped loop.
